Weird Wars

A local multiplayer game that we made based on the concept of the Global Game Jam 2026 theme "Masks".

This game was primarily developed over the course of 48 hours or so in January 2026. It was based on a template project made some time before then, so some assets, code, etc. existed before the start of the project.

After the end of this project, it sat around for a while until I finally got off my ass, stopped procrastinating, and finished up some final elements before uploading it here. It's still pretty confusing and esoteric, but I've added some menu screens explaining the game.

No AI was used in this game. We hate AI and refuse to use it in our work.

Many aspects of this game (audio, art, etc.) were made from amateur skillsets and we are happy with that. We are programmers by trade and we made this over a weekend.

We recommend playing in multiplayer with friends using gamepads. Most of the fun we got from this game was from messing around with each other, there are no win states. We don't know how well our fun will translate to strangers, but we do hope that you enjoy it in some way.
